Media Assistant Vacancy

We are currently seeking a highly motivated Media Assistant to join our team. Within this role, you will be responsible for managing our social media platforms, performing duties that facilitate marketing, public relations and social media engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for equality and racial justice, excellent communication abilities, and a proven track record of increasing social media engagement for organisations/companies.

Role Responsibilities

  • Building a social media strategy through audience research
  • Generate, edit, publish and share daily content (original text, images, video or HTML) that builds meaningful connections and encourages community members to take action
  • Improve social media pages within each platform to increase the visibility of social content, and create new social media pages where needed. Platforms include Instagram, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, TikTok amongst others
  • Create social media calendars and schedules to plan posts in advance
  • Attend events and meetings where relevant to capture content 
  • Continuously improve by capturing and analysing the appropriate social media data, insights and best practices, and then acting on the information
  • Drafting clear, concise and effective press releases
  • Using your creative skills to design and create regular newsletters
  • Systematically monitoring media coverage
  • Creating a comprehensive database of all national and media press organisations and outlets
  • Drafting media articles as and when needed
  • Designing and updating content on websites and campaign pages 
  • Supporting with other tasks as and when required

Job Type: Part-time

Work Location: Remote in London. However, there will be occasions where you will be required to attend events and meetings to capture content

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proven experience working in media-related roles
  • Proven track record of increasing social media engagement for organisations/companies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
