What data will we process?
We may request, and you may provide, the following data in connection with this incident reporting platform:
- your name;
- your contact information (email, phone number);
- your location (city, region);
- your age;
- your gender; and
details of the incident(s) and - their impact, which may include data relating to your race,
religion and ethnic background, and your health,
(“personal data”).
Who will use your personal data?
- Enact Equality Ltd (“Enact Equality”, “we”, “us”); and
- To the extent that you: (i) would like legal advice or assistance with a potential discrimination claim; and (ii) have provided your consent below, we will share your personal data with our partner law firms (listed below) (each a “Partner Firm”) who may be able to provide you with legal advice. The Partner Firms are the following:
o DLA Piper Law Firm
o Freshfields Law Firm
The Partner Firms are third parties and are not affiliated in any way with Enact Equality. They will act as independent controllers of your personal data.
Who will use your personal data?
To the extent to you provide your consent, we may use your personal data in the following ways:
- Legal advice. We may collect, process, and share with the relevant Partner Firm, your personal data (including information about the incident(s) and its impact, and your desired outcome), so that the Partner Firm may assess your case and decide if it can provide you with legal assistance;
- Research. We may collect and process your personal data (including information about the incident(s) and its impact, and your desired outcome), for the purpose of allowing us to continue our research into race-based hair-based discrimination in the United Kingdom; and
- Reporting. We may collect and process your personal data (including information about the incident(s) and its impact, and your desired outcome), for the purpose of allowing us to produce and publish reports relating to race-based hair-based discrimination in the United Kingdom. All personal data will be anonymised prior to publication.
How will we protect your personal data?
We will process your personal data in accordance with our privacy policy at all times. We will protect your personal data by implementing the protections in the privacy policy, including:
- Technical and organisational measures. Please see our privacy policy, which sets out the technical and organisational measures that we will implement to protect your personal data.
- Contractual protection. We will ensure that, under our contracts with the Partner Firms, the Partner Firms have committed to confidentiality and security obligations with respect to your personal data.
Can I withdraw my consent?
You can withdraw or modify your consent (in whole or in part) at any time by sending an email to [email protected], stating that you would like to withdraw or modify your consent to the processing of your personal data. As soon as possible upon receipt, we will stop: (i) sharing your personal data with the relevant Partner Firm; and (ii) using your personal data to conduct research and/or produce and publish reports. Withdrawal or modification of your consent will not affect any processing of your personal data that we have already carried out before receipt of your withdrawal or modification.
Please note that if you withdraw consent to the sharing your data with a Partner Firm, that Partner Firm may not be able to decide if they can provide you with legal assistance.
